WATERFORD, WI— Milwaukee-based Baymont Inns & Suites, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Marcus Corp., this summer is planning to go where no hotel has reportedly gone before when it opens a 52-inn/suite limited-service property in this Wisconsin village. Waterford Hotel Partners LLC, an ownership group comprising local residents Jay Henrichs, Dick Schulze, and Dan and Peter Schwabe, is developing the midscale Waterford Baymont Inn & Suites. Midway Hospitality Corp. has been named to handle management responsibilities at the new location. Dan Schwabe’s firm— Peter Schwabe Design – Build— is the general contractor for the $3-million development project. Though construction has already begun, the official groundbreaking ceremony for the new franchised property has been set for Feb. 7. With the opening of the franchised Waterford Baymont Inn & Suites, the brand is closing in on 200 properties nationwide.—Michael Billig
