ODESSA, TX—An indication of the brand’s growth and increasing interest in new-construction development, Baymont Inn & Suites, part of Wyndham Hotel Group, opened its 350th hotel, a new construction, 71–room property located here.
The Baymont Inn & Suites Odessa is the most recent of several new-construction prototypical Baymont Inn & Suites properties that have opened in the last 12 months, including new hotels in Erie, PA; San Angelo, TX; Bellevue, IA; and Rapid City, SD.
The brand, which consisted of 115 hotels when it joined the group’s portfolio in 2006, has more than tripled in system size due to consistent growth into new domestic markets, according to the company.
“We continue to focus on rapidly growing the Baymont Inn & Suites brand by working with great partners to develop new-construction properties and convert existing high-quality, limited-service hotels,” said Patrick Breen, brand SVP, Baymont Inn & Suites. “The momentum has been incredible and the accelerated interest from developers, owners and operators is truly a testament to their belief in the potential of the brand.”
Properties such as those in Odessa and Erie were constructed using the brand’s interior prototype design. The properties feature textural stacked stone; rich, dark wood; and white-painted wall paneling.
Dr. Bruce Thaler, who owns the recently opened Baymont Inn & Suites Erie, said, “Since opening the hotel this April, it has outperformed our expectations. Because of our strong partnership with the brand, we have a top-performing hotel and deliver the best possible experience to our guests and communities.”
