NEW BUFFALO, MI— A new casino resort is slated to open here on Aug. 2. Called the Four Winds Casino Resort, the property is owned by the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians and will be managed by Lakes Entertainment, Inc. Four Winds will offer a 165-suite hotel and 130,000 square feet of gaming including 3,000 slot machines, 100 table games and poker. The slot machines will include progressive slots linked with other Native American casinos around the country for what will reportedly be the highest payouts in the region. The casino is expected to attract more than 12,000 customers per day. Additionally, the resort will feature six restaurants, including a gourmet seafood restaurant and a steakhouse, as well as bars and retail venues.
