Anaheim’s Park Vue Inn Undergoing $30M Redevelopment

ANAHEIM, CA—The Park Vue Inn, located here, is planning to replace its current 86-guestroom hotel with a new mixed-use building featuring 162 rooms, designed by Irvine, CA-based architecture firm MVE & Partners, Inc.

The hotel, located across from Disneyland’s main entrance, will create a pedestrian-oriented building, according to the company.

The redevelopment will cost between $25 and $30 million, according to estimates by Paul Durand, CEO of Scalzo Hospitality, Inc., owners of the hotel. The new 119,000-sq.-ft. hotel will feature garden areas, a pool and two levels of parking on the 2.3-acre site.

It is designed in an updated rendition of Mediterranean architecture in the tradition of early 20th-century West Coast hotel architecture, according to the company.

The property will incorporate nearly 8,000 sq. ft. of restaurant space on the ground floor. The majority of the new restaurant space will be occupied by the hotel’s existing IHOP restaurant. The on-site Cold Stone Creamery will be relocated to the new hotel.

The redevelopment is “by right” and currently under review by the City of Anaheim’s planning department, according to Scalzo Hospitality. Plans were submitted in December 2013. Construction is expected to begin in January 2015 and occupancy by March 2016.
