GREENVILLE, SC—The Aloft Greenville Downtown at ONE Greenville has topped out, with the Brasfield & Gorrie project team placing the final concrete beam at the top of the new structure on Friday.
“This milestone is a testament to the hard work of the entire Aloft Greenville Downtown team, particularly the field personnel,” stated Brasfield & Gorrie Senior Project Manager Jeremy Thompson. “Now that we’ve reached the building’s highest point, our team is focused on putting Aloft’s eye-catching features in place.”
Brasfield & Gorrie’s construction team, including more than 100 field workers, held a topping-out celebration on the job site to commemorate this achievement.
The new 90,000-sq.-ft. hotel is 12 stories and includes a parking deck with office and retail spaces around the perimeter. With the topping out, the structure has reached its full height, making it downtown’s newest high-rise. When the hotel is completed, it will feature 144 guestrooms, 2,600 sq. ft. of meeting and event space, an outdoor pool and dog walk and Aloft’s signature WXYZ Bar.
Developed by the City of Greenville, Hughes Development Corp. and McKibbon Hotel Group and designed by Winford Lindsay Architect and 4240 Architecture, this project, the third phase of the ONE Greenville development, is expected to be complete later this year.
