MEXICO CITY—Accor hotel group has opened the new ibis Mexico Alameda here. It is the brand’s new flagship.

The ibis Mexico Alameda is located on Mexico City’s main avenue, six miles away from Mexico City Airport.

Located 10 minutes away are the city’s first opera house, the Palacio de Bellas Artes; Constitution Square, also known as Zocalo; Ave. Paseo de la Reforma; and the Polanco quarter, known for its shopping centers and restaurants.

The hotel features graffiti on the walls and ceilings to recall the Mexican capital’s artistic influence, according to the brand.

According to research done by the brand, Latin America has experienced a tourism boom in recent years with tourism spending soaring by over 40% since 2010.

Accor has developed more than 250 hotels in North, Central and South America. Their portfolio will expand with an additional 200 hotels by 2020.
