Accor has added two hotels expected to open in 2023, SLS Scottsdale in Arizona and Artista San Antonio. The latter will be a member of the Morgans Originals brand.

A collaboration with developer Dakota Development and DESCO, Arizona LLC, SLS Scottsdale will offer 235 guestrooms, including 30 luxury suites, as well as two floors of entertainment space and culinary and mixology experiences from sbe.

“Scottsdale has long been synonymous with luxury resorts and culinary experiences, both of which are integral to the SLS brand,” said Chadi Farhat, COO, sbe. “This is a prime market for SLS and we cannot wait to open our doors and show both guests and Scottsdale residents alike what makes this very special property and destination so unique.”

Architectural design for the hotel is led by Phoenix-based Biltform Architects, and it will be designed by New York-based HGXDesign.

Accor has signed a strategic agreement to manage and operate Artista San Antonio with San Antonio-based developer Harris Bay. The hotel will operate under Accor’s newest lifestyle brand, Morgans Originals.

The 112-room hotel celebrates San Antonio’s culture and diversity and will be located in the heart of the city’s Riverwalk area, and will offer more than 2,500 sq. ft. of event and meeting space and Morgan Original’s signature culinary and bar concepts.

“San Antonio is re-emerging as a premier destination and has been one of the United States’ undiscovered gems of culture and diversity for too long,” said Farhat. “Rich in history, San Antonio is a 300-year-old Spanish colonial city and we are excited to celebrate that culture on the Riverwalk at Artista San Antonio.”

The project’s architecture is led by Kris Feldmann Creo Architects in collaboration with a soon-to-be-revealed interior design team. Guestroom interiors will reflect an inspirational art-centric modern design with a nod to the Spanish colonial roots of San Antonio, according to Accor. The hotel will embrace a strong South and Central American flavor with work by artists whose pieces will be featured throughout the property.
