INTERNATIONAL REPORT—Hotel Business is tracking hotel projects in the works abroad. Among them are a Four Seasons planned for Vietnam, the first Clayton Hotel set for Scotland, and more. Let’s take a look:
Four Seasons Hotel Hanoi at Hoan Kiem Lake
Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and BRG Group plan to open the Four Seasons Hotel Hanoi at Hoan Kiem Lake in the heart of Vietnam’s capital city.
Designed by WATG Architects and SRSS Interior Design Studio, Four Seasons Hotel Hanoi at Hoan Kiem Lake will draw from the French Colonial inspirations that are characteristic of Hanoi and include 95 rooms and suites as well as a spa and fitness center, pools, and event and meeting spaces. In addition, Wimberly Interiors will develop the dining and lounge offerings, including an all-day restaurant, lounge and rooftop bar.
The hotel will be the brand’s second location in Vietnam, joining Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, Hoi An.
Clayton Hotel
Dalata Hotel Group PLC has signed an agreement to lease a new Clayton Hotel to be built in Glasgow, Scotland, with Artisan St. Enoch Quarter Limited, a subsidiary of Artisan Real Estate Investors Limited.
The new hotel will be a four-star property, located in the center of the city on the River Clyde, close to Glasgow Central Station and within walking distance of the main shopping thoroughfares and the International Financial Services District. The hotel will have approximately 300 air-conditioned bedrooms, a bar, restaurant and conference facilities.
On completion of construction, Dalata will commence operations in the hotel through a 35-year operating lease, which will be subject to five-year rent reviews linked to the retail price index. It is expected that the hotel will open in Q4 of 2020. The construction of the hotel is subject to the receipt of planning permission from Glasgow City Council.
Avani Hua Hin Resort & Villas
Minor Hotels unveiled a 50/50 joint venture partnership with B&G Park Co. Ltd, to own and operate a resort in the beachside town of Hua Hin in Thailand. Currently operating as Ananda Hua Hin Resort & Spa, the property has been rebranded as Avani Hua Hin Resort & Villas and represents an investment of $22.5 million by Minor Hotels.
The resort offers a private beach retreat with 196 guestrooms—standard rooms, pool villas and suites—with views of the garden, pool and ocean. A number of private pool villas also provide direct access to the main lagoon pool.
The resort also has two restaurants, a jazz club, AvaniSpa with nine treatment rooms and an authentic Hammam, AvaniFit gym, Avani Kids Club with indoor and outdoor facilities, a large lagoon-style swimming pool and pool bar and a ballroom.
