PUERTO VALLARTA, MEXICO—G6 Hospitality, known for its economy lodging brands, Motel 6 and Studio 6 in the U.S. and Canada, has broken ground on its new Estudio 6 property here. This is the second Estudio 6 property under development in Mexico.

“We are very excited to begin the development of our second Estudio 6 property in Puerto Vallarta, a destination known worldwide for its beautiful beaches and unique attractions. Our brands will offer travelers the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of this charming location at an affordable price,” said Jim Amorosia, president and CEO of G6 Hospitality, at a ceremony to mark the groundbreaking.

The Estudio 6 in Puerto Vallarta is scheduled to open during the second half of 2016. Guestrooms will feature elements of the company’s Phoenix design, and will offer suite-type rooms with fully equipped kitchenettes, microwave, stovetop, coffeemaker and refrigerator, expanded work areas, HDTVs with premium channels, free Wi-Fi, laundry and on-site parking..

In 2014, the company announced the introduction of its two new brands in the Latin American market—Hotel 6 and Estudio 6—with the signing of a development agreement with Latina Promohoteles, a division of Promodesa Commercial, headquartered in Mexico. With an investment of nearly 63 million pesos ($3.8 million), the new Estudio 6 will feature a seven-story building with 114 rooms. “We have found the perfect balance between cost, superlative facilities and high-quality service, which is, ultimately, what will differentiate us from other alternatives in the area,” said Juan Carlos Gonzalez, VP of Latina Promohoteles. “Additionally, this property will be the only hotel in the area to offer comfortable and spacious rooms aimed to meet the needs of extended-stay travelers.”
