PHOENIX—Best Western International has inked deals for five additional Vib hotels, which brings the total projects in the pipeline to eight. The Vib properties—Chicago; Los Angeles; Miami; Seoul, South Korea; Little Rock, AR; Staten Island, NY; and Springfield, MO—are slated to open by the end of 2016.

Vīb was designed for today’s connected traveler who is looking for social engagement, technology integration and consistent service, according to the company. Upon debuting the brand’s new urban boutique concept last October, the company has been actively negotiating deals in key U.S. cities including Atlanta; Charlotte, NC; Dallas; New Orleans; Scottsdale, AZ; and San Diego.

“Since the launch of Vīb, we have had tremendous interest from hotel developers and are especially pleased with the response from developers who have not previously developed Best Western hotels,” said Ron Pohl, SVP, brand management. “Vīb is really gaining traction because it is the only boutique concept designed for the upper-midscale hotel segment and fills a niche that developers and customers want.”
