NEW YORK—Chelsea Hotels is opening the landmark Martha Washington hotel in the city’s NoMad neighborhood.

The hotel, which was the first hotel reserved exclusively for women in America, has returned to its original name. The Martha Washington features 265 guestrooms and suites and onsite concierge service. The property also has more than 4,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space set to open later this year.

“The Martha Washington presented a unique opportunity to take something with weighty historical significance, and with the help of an array of amazing creative partners like Selldorf Architects, branding firm Pandiscio Co. and Union Square Hospitality Group, reimagine the property into a more youthful iteration of herself,” stated Ed Scheetz, founder and CEO of Chelsea Hotels.
