ROSEMONT, IL—First Hospitality Group, Inc. (FHG), based here, has assumed management of the Peoria Marriott Pere Marquette and soon-to-open Courtyard by Marriott Peoria Downtown, both located in Peoria, IL.
The 10-story, 286-guestroom Peoria Marriott Pere Marquette offers 18,840 sq. ft. of meeting space. It is situated across the street from the Madison Theatre and half a block away from Peoria City Hall, both of which are on the National Register of Historic Places. The hotel, which first opened in 1926, takes its name from French explorer Father Jacques Marquette. The hotel recently underwent extensive renovations, which included updating guestrooms and ballrooms and redesigning the lobby. It reopened in June 2013.
The new Marriott Courtyard by Marriott Peoria Downtown features 116 guestrooms and suites, a 50-person conference room, a fitness center and an indoor pool.
When the new property opens this month, the hotels will be linked by a shared skywalk that connects at the city’s Civic Center, an entertainment and convention venue.
