MCLEAN, VA—The newly opened Embassy Suites Hotel in Springfield, VA, celebrated its grand opening event benefiting the USO Warrior and Family Center at Fort Belvoir.
Along with executives from Hilton Worldwide, Embassy Suites Hotels and operator High Velocity Hospitality, local officials and community members gathered at the newly built hotel, which opened to the public in August.
The hotel features the latest Embassy Suites design concept, Design Option III, and includes 219 suites along with more than 6,000 sq. ft. of meeting space. Additional highlights include the indoor pool and Crossroads Bar & Grill, serving up contemporary American fare.
The event, co-hosted with the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce, consisted of a ribbon cutting and open house where donations were gathered for the USO Warrior and Family Center. The USO Warrior and Family Center opened in February 2013 and is the first of two planned Warrior and Family Centers that support wounded warriors and their families throughout the rehabilitation process by providing a place for recreation, normalcy, respite and long-term planning. Following the festivities, Embassy Suites Springfield matched all donations received during the grand opening celebration, presenting more then $3,000 to representatives of the center.
