ATLANTA— Hotel Equities (HE), based here, recently added two positions at the director level in order to handle new business opportunities. Richard Welch was appointed director of new business development and Mary Beth Cutshall was named director of contract services. Welch will represent Hotel Equities in dealings with hotel brokers, hotel investors, franchisors and financial institutions to secure new hotel management contracts for the company. Cutshall has responsibility for securing third-party management contracts and servicing the needs of those investors and owners who hire Hotel Equities. She will also identify possible acquisitions and new development opportunities. Both Welch and Cutshall will be based at HE’s corporate office in Perimeter Center in Atlanta and will report to president and CEO Fred Cerrone. In previous experiences, Welch was general manager of the Embassy Suites Palm Beach Gardens. He joined Hotel Equities in 2001 as the general manager of the Fairfield Inn by Marriott in Charlotte, NC. Cutshall operated her own marketing consulting company in her past experience. She also served as corporate director of sales and marketing for Hotel Investors Trust. She joined HE in 2004 as director of sales for two hotels, including the Fairfield Inn & Suites-Buckhead.
