NORWALK, CT— The board of directors at Priceline.com has promoted several executives corresponding to the recent re-alignment of Priceline’s operating and management structure. Jeffery Boyd, former Priceline president and COO, was named president and co-chief executive officer. Boyd shares CEO responsibilities with chairman Richard Braddock. Boyd joined Priceline in 2000 and has served as the company’s COO since October 2000. Mitch Truwit, former evp/operations, was named as Priceline’s new COO. In addition to naming Truwit, Priceline’s board restructured the scope of the position so the COO now will oversee Priceline’s airline tickets, rental cars, mortgage, telecommunications products, customer service, public relations, and international initiatives. Truwait joined Priceline in 1999 and also served as svp/corporate development. Trey Urbahn, former president of Priceline’s airline tickets service, was named chairman of Priceline’s travel services group, a newly created position. Urbahn will focus on strategic initiatives for the company’s travel business, supplier relations, revenue management positions at Alamo, United Airlines, Northwest Airlines and US Airways. Christopher Soder, the current president/lodging, automotive and business development, was named today as Priceline’s evp. Soder leads Priceeline’s hotel, vacation package, automotive services and corporate development program. Soder joined Priceline in 2000.
