SAN FRANCISCO- The New Internet Computer Co. (NICC) has sold 15,000 New Internet Computers (NICs) to the SuiteStar Corp. of Rockville, MD.

SuiteStar will install NICs in hotel rooms nationwide, allowing guests to access e-mail and the Web. The sale is the first part of a long-term arrangement between the two companies, with as many as 135,000 installations expected by the close of 2001.

SuiteStar, provider of advertising-supported free web access in hotels, has installed the Internet appliances in 130 rooms at the Quality Suites Hotel in Rockville, owned by Sunburst Hospitality Corp. More NICs are scheduled for installation in additional properties affiliated with Sunburst Hospitality and other hotels nationally. (10/10/00)
