WHISTLER, BC—The Pangea Pod Hotel is scheduled to open here next April. It will be Canada’s first pod accommodation concept, according to the company.
Designed to have a boutique feel, the property is expected to fill the void in the town between hostels and hotels.
Pangea will have custom suites with a total of 88 private sleeping pods. Each pod will be lined in wood and outfitted with a memory foam double mattress and high-end linens. They’ll also be equipped with LED lights, multiple charging points (including USB ports) and a fan for ventilation and white noise.
The rooms also will have modular bathrooms separated into four individually accessible components: spa-like showers, washrooms, vanities and changing rooms. More than 60 of these bathroom components will be spread throughout Pangea’s suites.
Pangea also will have F&B concepts like The Living Room—a hub including a café, a lounge and a bar—and The Patio, a rooftop bar. Another amenity available will be The Toy Box, an open-plan ski gear area that will offer storage for equipment.
