PHOENIX— Multi-Systems recently installed its new WinPM Wireless hand-held check-in/check-out solution at the Lodging Enterprises’ Oak Tree Inn in Green River, WY. Lodging Enterprises’ properties are primarily situated near railroad stations and specialize in catering to railroad industry personnel. “The WinPM Wireless solution is uniquely applicable at the Oak Tree Inn, as the property has a campus-like layout of the rooms,” said Kim Stahr, general manager of the Oak Tree Inn. “Guests are not required to stop at the front-desk, but are simply checked-in through a corporate lodging card with the WinPM Wireless unit aboard the ride from the train station,” Stahr continued. “They are saved from check-in counter lines and protected from weather elements, thus allowing direct arrival at their room. As a result, guest processing is streamlined and hassle-free.” The Wireless hand-held devices, made by Symbol Technologies, with room key encoding technology, from VingCard, enables the user to obtain authorizations and encode room keys on the spot. The WinPM Wireless unit can print a registration card and room directions, check-out a guest putting the balance on a credit card or direct bill, change payment method and print a folio. According to Brian Primeau, vp/new business development at MSI, the company will install the WinPM Wireless solution at 20 additional Lodging Enterprises’ locations over the next 12 months.
