Wyndham To Reopen Newark Airport Hotel

NEWARK, NJ Wyndham International plans to spend $32 million to turn the Jetport Holiday Inn near Newark International Airport into an upscale Wyndham hotel and conference center.

The Dallas-based hotel company bought the 394-room hotel three years ago for $30.5 million, but let it sit empty while the company went through financial restructuring last year.

However, the hotel is now scheduled to reopen as the Wyndham Newark Airport by the end of this year, giving it about 18,000 square feet of meeting space, more than any other hotel in the fast-growing Newark Airport market that is expected to see a 25% increase in passenger traffic by the end of the decade.
