Wyndham and IHG are bringing their brands to new countries. Here’s a look:
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Arrives in Cambodia
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has opened its first hotel in Cambodia, the Howard Johnson Plaza by Wyndham Blue Bay Sihanoukville, on the country’s coast. The 522-key upscale hotel is the latest addition to Wyndham Hotels & Resorts’ portfolio of more than 1,500 hotels across the Asia-Pacific region.
The property has an outdoor swimming pool with panoramic sea views, a fitness center, a spa and a duty-free retail outlet. The hotel is also home to three dining outlets, including Andaman Sea, the all-day dining restaurant serving international favorites alongside Sichuan, Cantonese and Hunan cuisine; the Private Dining Room, serving local, Chinese and Western specialties; and the Infinity Lounge, which serves an array of beverages and cocktails.
Wyndham Launches La Quinta in the Middle East
Wyndham has debuted its La Quinta by Wyndham brand in the Middle East with a new 100-room property in Dubai. Expected to open in March, La Quinta by Wyndham Dubai Bur Dubai will be centrally located in the historic Bur Dubai district.
This hotel marks the 75th La Quinta property to open since Wyndham acquired the brand in 2018. La Quinta has now expanded to nine countries: Canada, Chile, Colombia, Honduras, Mexico, Turkey, New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates and the United States. The brand has also announced plans to open eight new La Quinta hotels in the Dominican Republic.
The new Dubai property is located in one of the city’s commercial hubs offering access to leisure attractions, including the Dubai Cruise Terminal at Port Rashid, The Dubai Mall, the Dubai Frame and Jumeirah Mosque, as well as business spots such as the Dubai World Trade Centre and the city’s financial district. The newly refurbished hotel will have contemporary guestrooms and interiors, combining Dubai’s traditional trading colors with a modern twist that replicates the city’s lively scene. La Quinta by Wyndham Dubai Bur Dubai will also offer a 1,000-sq. ft event and meeting space and a host of additional amenities, including an outdoor pool with pool deck, a spa with sauna and steam room and a modern fitness center. Other features will include all-day dining, a lounge, coffee shop, 24/7 room service and specialty restaurants serving Indian and international menus. A 24-hour business center, children’s play area and pool, dedicated retail space, parking and a local shuttle are also available.
IHG to Debut Staybridge Suites in India
IHG Hotels and Resorts will be debuting extended-stay brand Staybridge Suites in India with the signing of Staybridge Suites Bengaluru Thanisandra.
Signed as a management agreement in partnership with NR Greenwood Construction Pvt. Ltd, the hotel is expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2023. Debuting in the ‘Silicon Valley of India,’ Bengaluru, the hotel is expected to benefit from the strong demand for extended-stay branded hospitality options in the city, from domestic as well as international corporate travel segments.
The property will offer a residential style of hotel experience with 170 suites featuring kitchenettes. Additionally, the hotel will have two meeting rooms and a more than 3,000-sq.-ft. dining room, and will provide facilities such as a business center and a gym.
