DALLAS—Wyndham International has teamed with SDD, Inc. to launch a chainwide centralized call accounting system that will make it possible for the company to price its communications offerings on a per-room or group-booking basis at any Wyndham property. Also, the platform identifies members of the brands Wyndham ByRequest program staying at any property across the chain. In turn, the SDD platform sets and posts the proper communications charges from the members profile without any additional administrative processes or procedures. Specifically, Wyndham is utilizing SDDs JAZZ Enterprise, which combines a centralized call accounting system with a guest- and group-centric billing capability and a national telephone carrier contract-monitoring component. Housed and managed at Wyndhams corporate office here, the system allows the company to monitor and control local hotels Property Management System (PMS) and the Private Branch Exchange (PBX), repackage and reprice telecommunications for guests, and collect and aggregate actual telecom usage in real-time from across individual properties. As a first step, approximately 105 properties have been enabled with the technology. The plan is toinstall the technology brandwide by mid-year 2003. Prior to this initiative the accounting procedure was such that if the Wyndham ByRequest member wanted to make a domestic long-distance telephone call or utilize high-speed Internet access while in the hotel, manual removal of the phone charges from the guest members folio was required, thus creating one additional administrative layer. Utilizing SDDs technology, which is integrated with Wyndhams front- and back-office systems, the SDD system automatically recognizes guest or group profiles, establishes the proper discounts or promotional pricing, and posts the proper charges.
