HONG KONG—Wyndham Hotel Group continues to expand its portfolio of offerings in China under the upscale Wyndham Hotels and Resorts flag.
According to the company, China is a key country for Wyndham Hotel Group’s global growth. From July 1, 2013, through June 30, the company opened 240 properties throughout the region, 211 of which were opened in China.
The openings of Wyndham Grand Xi’an South and Wyndham Kunming Resort, along with the opening of Wyndham Xuzhou East by the end of this year, adds to the 760 hotels and more than 86,200 rooms currently open in China under the Hotel Group’s Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Days Inn, Howard Johnson, Ramada and Super 8 brands.
Wyndham Grand Xi’an South opens as the largest hotel in Xi’an in terms of number of rooms, with 565 guestrooms, according to Wyndham. The luxury hotel is located in Qujiang New District, close to Great Tang All Day Mall, Xi’an Qujiang International Conference & Exhibition Center, Dayan Pagoda, as well as shopping centers. It is also accessible to historic heritage sites such as the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor and Terracotta Warriors.
The hotel offers a number of dining experiences, including The Lounge and an all-day dining restaurant with interactive show kitchens and live cooking stations. Function facilities include a grand ballroom and 11 breakout rooms for meetings and private events. This hotel is the first Wyndham Grand hotel in China managed by Wyndham Hotel Group.
The five-star Wyndham Kunming Resort is located 30 minutes from Kunming Changshui International Airport. The hotel will offer 300 rooms and features a wide range of outdoor recreational facilities and activities, including an 18-hole golf course, a jockey club and a wetland park. Guests can also immerse themselves in nature at the Jia Lize Wetland nearby.
The upcoming Wyndham Xuzhou East will be situated at the Xuzhou economic development zone, a core business area for industrial and technology businesses, with more than 3,000 enterprises in the area. The 340-room hotel near Jinlong Lake is located near the Xuzhou High-Speed Railway Station.
