NEW ORLEANS HOTELBUSINESS. has learned that Wyndham International is set to be the first hotel chain to complete the installation of high-speed Internet access in all of its branded hotels. Currently the brand is 50% finished, and the deployment is scheduled to be complete by May 2001.
Though other chains may have had an initial lead, Jay Litt, Wyndham s chief purchasing officer (CPO), noted that many chains have been forced to slow down due to various problems.
“I heard Marriott recently stopped because of problems with their supplier,” he said.
Litt noted that as many Internet suppliers are going bankrupt, Wyndham s vendor, Wayport, recently received its next round of funding. (1/19/01) Diana M. Rodriguez
