ATLANTA— Worldspan has appointed John James to the position of vp/corporate e-commerce solutions within the companys Worldwide Travel Distribution division. In this position, James is responsible for the companys corporate e-commerce strategy globally, including marketing Worldspan Trip Manager, the companys online travel management solution, in the United States and in selected strategic markets outside the United States. James new responsibilities include creating strategic business partnerships and overseeing business development, account management, and marketing teams focused on delivering Worldspans corporate travel management products and services worldwide. He reports to Mike Parks, senior vp/general manager, Worldwide Travel Distribution for Worldspan. James joined Worldspan in February 2001, serving first as director, e-commerce business development for the Americas, responsible for developing Worldspans e-commerce business in the United States and Latin America. Later, he and his group expanded their focus to the worldwide e-commerce marketplace. Previously, James served as vp/worldwide marketing at XTRA On-Line Corp., a developer of Internet-based corporate booking and travel management solutions.
