ATLANTA, GA— Sam Winterbottom, long-time hotel industry development executive, has been named evp for development – the Americas at Carlson Hotels Worldwide. Most recently responsible for the franchising of several brands within the Starwood Hotels & Resorts ranks, Winterbottom will now report directly to Carlson Hotels President Jay Witzel. It was learned Winterbottom will undertake his new responsibilities on Dec. 1, when he moves to Carlson headquarters in Minneapolis.
