ATLANTA— Lodgian announced that effective October 11, 2001, William J. Yung resigned from its Board of Directors for personal reasons. The move comes weeks after Lodgian CEO Tom Arasi resigned from his post, and after the company announced 1,600 layoffs. Yung had been appointed to the companys board of directors immediately following the companys 2001 Annual Meeting of Stockholders on June 21. He filled the vacancy created by the resignation of Michael Leven. As previously reported by HOTEL BUSINESS®, Yungs Edgecliff Holdings had attemped, several times over the last two years, to buy Lodgian, but was unsuccessful.
