In celebration of its 17th anniversary, the refurbishments encompass newly designed guestrooms and public spaces. The redesign pays homage to North Carolina’s rich history, with a nod to the neighborhood of Ballantyne—once family hunting land that has been developed into one of the country’s preeminent communities.
Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort Spa and Casino Unveils $21M Renovation
Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort Spa & Casino has renovated its 357 guestrooms and suites, and Regency Club. Spearheaded by Kansas City-based BLUR Workshop Designs, the $21-million redesign introduces modern accommodations while still paying homage to the island’s Dutch Colonial architecture and colorful Caribbean accents. Guestrooms now include white oak furnishings; natural light; a hand-woven, chevron wool rug; plush pillows and bedding; a classic yet contemporary tufted headboard; a large, oversized chaise lounge; a 65-inch TV; a glass-faced fridge; a coffee station; numerous outlets; and motion-sensor lighting.

Joie de Vivre Hotels’ The Marker in San Francisco has completed its multimillion-dollar renovation. The redesign of the lobby, meeting and event spaces and living room draws inspiration from the Beaux Arts period by mixing unexpected scale and theatrical elements of its Union Square neighborhood, while reflecting the city culture through art. The design was created by Perkins+Will design firm.
