Even Hotel Miami Airport is Now Complete
Miami-based Epelboim Development Group (EDG), in conjunction with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), has completed its newest project—Even Hotel Miami Airport.
Outside of the rooms, the hotel offers guests more than 4,000 sq. ft. of conference space, a full-service industrial kitchen, more than 140 covered parking spaces, and a multimillion-dollar pool and athletics complex. The latter also includes an expansive, 24-hour athletic studio with TRX bands, weights, customized Woodway treadmills, spin bikes and more. Every floor has filtered water hydration stations, and the hotel offers same-day laundry service specifically for guests’ workout clothing.
Aimed at the business and leisure traveler, Even Hotel Miami Airport—which is managed by Coral Gables, FL-based Trust Hospitality, a $37-million initiative—is the first of its kind in Florida.
Cooper Carry Designs Embassy Suites by Hilton South Bend at Notre Dame
The recently opened Embassy Suites by Hilton is one of the key pieces of an ambitious $300 million mixed-use development across the street from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN. It was designed by Cooper Carry. The hotel represents the capstone project for Phase I of the Eddy Street Commons development neighboring Notre Dame’s southern edge and main gate entry.
The design of the 175,000-sq.-ft. hotel tailors an Embassy Suites by Hilton branded product to seamlessly reference the collegiate Gothic architecture found on campus while integrating it with the core character of the surrounding community-focused development. The sixth-floor rooftop deck has social and amenity areas with expansive views that are available to both local patrons and hotel guests.
“Notre Dame is widely recognized as one of the most beautiful college campuses in the country with a rich architectural tradition. We wanted to look at the architectural wealth right at its doorstep for inspiration,” said Rob Uhrin, principal, Cooper Carry. “The design of the hotel melds Notre Dame’s iconic gothic aesthetic with the industrial feel of the Eddy St. buildings.”
New Hotel Planned in Monterey, CA
A new-build project is in preliminary stages on an existing parcel, 2113 N. Fremont St. in Monterey, CA. Owned by Lakshmi Hotel Partners, developer Sejal Patel plans on demolishing the existing restaurant and 18-unit motel to build a 50-unit Avid hotel, IHG’s new midscale brand.
Slated to be the first Avid built in the state, it will have a rooftop deck and bar with ocean views. According to the developer, it’s one of the first ground-up developments in Monterey in more than 20 years.
