ST. LOUIS— The Westin St. Louis was recently named the recipient of a Hospitality Merit Award in the 2001 DuPont Antron Design Awards. The 255-room Westin, which was launched in March 2001, was created from an 1882 grouping of historic St. Louis warehouses into a contemporary, urban four-star hotel. The hotel is part of a complex called Cupples Station which also includes Class A office space, restaurants, retail outlets and covered parking. The Chicago-based Anderson/Miller, Ltd. did the interior design of the Westin St. Louis. The design is comprised of a neutral, natural and highly textured palette punctuated by high-contrast floorcovering.
