Westin Pittsburgh To Unveil Heavenly Crib

PITTSBURGH— On August 14, the “Heavenly Crib” will be unveiled in the lobby of the Westin Convention Center Pittsburgh, marking the follow up to the brand’s well-known “Heavenly Bed” concept. The Heavenly Crib was custom-designed for Westin and parent company Starwood Hotels & Resorts one year after the federal Consumer Product Safety Commission and National Safe Kids Campaign completed a survey and found unsafe cribs in 80% of the hotels visited around the United States. Joe Kane, general manager of the Westin Convention Center, stated that the crib exceeds federal standards with slats more than 2-3/8 inches apart and 100% cotton fitted sheets. In addition, the Westin Convention Center staff has been trained in the set-up, maintenance, and repair for this safe sleep system. Starwood Hotels & Resorts is replacing its old cribs and supplying 2,000 new Heavenly Cribs to its properties (including the Westin Convention Center Pittsburgh) at a cost of $1 million.
