Westin New York Plans ‘Housewarming’

NEW YORK— A “housewarming” promotion will celebrate the launch of the Westin New York at Times Square. The 863-room hotel is slated to open on Oct. 16. Guests who bring a “housewarming gift” (non-perishable food, canned goods or clothing) to the hotel will receive a special rate of $209 per night, double occupancy, on weekdays (Monday through Thursday) and $189 per night on weekends (Friday through Sunday). The promotion will run through Feb. 28, 2003. All gifts will be donated to the Coalition for the Homeless. Tishman Realty & Construction Co. owns the property which will be managed by Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
