SPOKANE, WA— WestCoast Hospitality Corp. is set to finalize the conversion of 22 of its hotels to the Red Lion brand on Feb. 26, an undertaking to be marked by “a series of special events and philanthropic community-outreach initiatives,” according to company Chairman/President/CEO Don Barbieri. The nearly two-dozen conversions will equate to a 53% increase in the number of Red Lion properties in the company’s portfolio (bringing the count to 63), with that level said to represent the largest number of hotels in the brand’s history. Improvements to be put into play among the newly converted properties include the launch of a new, state-of-the-art central reservations system plus a combination of guest-affinity programs and actual property refurbishments encompassing— but not necessarily limited to— new hotel signage as well as revamped food-and-beverage service.
