NEW YORK— Len Wolman, chairman and CEO of Connecticut-based Waterford Group, LLC, told HOTEL BUSINESS® that affiliates of his company— several of which are doing business as 315 Trumbell Street Associates LLC— have closed on financing for the recently acquired Hilton Hartford. “Fleet Bank of America provided us with the financing. It’s a $20 million loan,” said Wolman. The partnership, which also includes Michigan-based Slavik, Inc. and Connecticut-based Albermarle Hotel Associates, Inc. and developer Glenn Jette, acquired the 392-room for $31 million and plans to renovate it. “We’ve finished up the designs and we’re getting ready to really get construction moving,” he said. Architectural design is being handled by William Tabler and Associates. Thus far, the building, which is connected to the Hartford Civic Center via a skywalk, has been gutted and submitted interior design boards for FF&E by The Gettys Group have been approved by Hilton. When finished in early 2005, the property will feature an estimated 14,000 square feet of meeting space, a full-service, street-level restaurant designed by cb5 Restaurant Group, a lobby coffee bar, concierge level, high-speed Internet and Wi-Fi access and an indoor swimming pool. —Stefani C.
