PORT CHESTER, NY— Walsh Associates will provide project management, purchasing and on-site supervision services for the $5 million renovation and reflagging of the Ramada in Shelton, CT. The property is expected to be reflagged as a Courtyard by Marriott by the first quarter 2005, according to Walsh Associates. New Castle Hotels & Resorts recently acquired the Ramada in a joint venture with Charlesbank Capital Partners LLC and Winston Hotels Inc. New Castle will manage the property during the renovation and after the conversion to a Courtyard by Marriott. Walsh said his firm will purchase all case goods, soft goods, fabrics, carpets, furnishings and light fixtures for the Ramada renovation, and will coordinate delivery in concert with construction schedules. The project will encompass all 160 guestrooms, 5,000 square feet of meeting space, public areas and the hotels restaurant. In 2003, Walsh Associates provided more than $10 million in purchasing services for the redesign of 12 Courtyards owned by Host Marriott.
