ATLANTA, GA— For the second consecutive year, U.S. Franchise Systems here has recognized several corporate employees with the Outstanding Service Provider Award, and has similarly honored one of those recipients— Atlanta-based Debbie Kennedy, director of compliance— with the Mike Leven Culture Award. Employees from a variety of departments were recognized from both the Atlanta headquarters and Marion, IL central reservations office. Winners were nominated by their co-workers, with endorsements from various franchisees, for providing exemplary customer service above and beyond company standards. Other recipients of the 2001 USFS Outstanding Service Provider Award include: John Benedict, manager – franchise resources; Jessie Campbell, director – group and tour sales; Greg Geyman, director – reservations; Carletta Name, supervisor – reservations; Frances Walden, administrative assistant – operations; and Christy Williams, director – field support for Microtel, Hawthorn and Best. In another arena, USFS honored Michelle Smith, director of franchise resources for Microtel, with the company’s Outstanding Career Achievement Award for “making a significant contribution to the growth of the company and the Microtel brand.” Smith started with USFS in 1996, and will reportedly be leaving the company in March. Finally, USFS has presented Chris Burdette, manager – field support for Microtel Inns & Suites; with the Everybody Sells Champion Award. The company introduced the Everybody Sells local sales program this past November to supplement the sales efforts of Microtel properties across the country. Burdette has reportedly secured a number of promising accounts for the Everybody Sells program, including several national account opportunities for Microtel.
