ATLANTA — During the week of Dec.10, some hotels in the Microtel Inns & Suites system will be claiming that the chairman, president, or senior vice president for U.S. Franchise Systems (USFS) is their salesperson. Through the previously announced Everybody Sells sales initiative, six of the companys top level executives will join corporate franchise operations representatives across the country to make local sales calls on behalf of individual Microtel hotels. USFS is the parent company of the franchisor of the Microtel hotel brand. USFS management who will be making sales calls coast-to-coast include; Mike Leven, chairman/CEO; Steve Romaniello, president/COO; Jon Leven, senior vice president of marketing; Roy Flora, senior vice president of franchise operations; Mike Muir, senior vice president of franchise sales; and Tim Muir, senior vice president of franchise sales. USFS lauched the Everybody Sells initiative in November and has made nearly 1,500 sales calls on behalf of 60 hotels. At least three days are being devoted on site in each Microtels market where USFS representatives will meet with local businesses on behalf of the hotel. To expand Everybody Sells beyond the initial sales calls, USFS has designed a telemarketing effort to provide follow-up support for the hotel by the Corporate National Sales Support Team. By the end of February 2002 an estimated 6500 local sales calls is expected to be completed on behalf of Microtel hotels.
