ORLANDO— IDeaS, a provider of revenue management solutions, announced that Universal Orlando Resort has installed and is operating its e-yield Revenue Management Solution. This implementation is part of Universal’s plan to centralize revenue management operations for three hotel properties in Orlando including Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Orlando, a Loews Hotel; Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Orlando; and the newly opened Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando, a Loews Hotel. The new system allows the resort to synchronize room availability and pricing for all voice, GDS and Internet distribution channels, according to Dennis Quinn, senior director/revenue management at the property. He noted that the automated revenue management solution helps management respond quickly to market conditions and large group fluctuations. To deploy this centralized solution, IDeaS teamed with Pegasus Solutions to develop an advanced interface between IDeaS’ revenue management solution (RMS) and the Pegasus RezView central reservations system (CRS), which Universal uses on an application service provider (ASP) basis. All reservations for Universal Orlando Resort are made in the RezView CRS, and data from the CRS is fed directly through a robust two-way interface to IDeaS e-yield RMS, which then updates its forecast and automated decisions with the latest booking information and delivers the updated controls directly back to the CRS inventory and rate mechanics in RezView.
