FT. LAUDERDALE, FL— Mark Underwood has been named director/sales and marketing for the 250-room Renaissance Ft. Lauderdale–Plantation Hotel, which is scheduled to open in September. Underwood previously served as director/national accounts for the Denver Marriott Tech Center & Southeast Hotels. He will oversee all sales and marketing for the nine-story property, which when it opens will offer approximately 10,000 square feet of meeting space, including nine meeting rooms and a ballroom that can accommodate 450 persons. A grill and wine bar, BIN 595, will feature American/Caribbean cuisine. An executive club level with private lounge will offer guestrooms with refrigerators and safes, and a business center will be available. The property is managed by White Lodging Service Corp.
