NEW YORK— According to a Reuters report, UBS Warburg has hired Jackson Hsieh away from rival Morgan Stanley to lead the banks investment banking efforts in the real estate and leisure market. Hsieh, 41, will serve as a managing director and head of UBSs Real Estate, Lodging and Leisure banking group. While at Morgan Stanley, he served as global head of the banks Lodging and Leisure group, focusing primarily on providing strategic advice and raising capital for hotel owners and operators. The transactions on Hsiehs resume include the spin-off of Fairmont Hotels from Canadian Pacific, representing Hilton Hotels Corp. in its acquisition of Promus Hotels in 1999 and helping lead the recapitalization of Extended Stay America Inc. The report said Hsieh wont officially assume his post at UBS until April. SOURCE: Reuters
