BRENHAM, TX— A new Comfort Suites hotels here will officially open its doors in style at a grand opening gala set for this Friday, Jan. 24. Owned and operated by Avdhut Inc. of Brenham, TX, the Comfort Suites hotel has 54 one- and two-room suites with king- or queen-size beds. Suite amenities include a microwave, refrigerator, coffeemaker, sofa bed, remote-controlled color television, work desk, computer data port with high-speed Internet access, iron, ironing board and hairdryer. In addition, some suites feature a whirlpool tub and wet bar. Also, handicapped and non-smoking rooms are available. The three-story property features a heated indoor pool and whirlpool; 400 square-foot meeting room; exercise facility equipped with a treadmill stair-stepper and stationary bike; and breakfast area that seats up to 24. The hotel is two miles from historic downtown Brenham. Nearby attractions include Somerville Lake, Washington State Park and Antique Rose Emporium.
