AVON, CO— Two Westin properties are now under construction here in the mountains of Colorado. Scheduled to be ready for the 2008 ski season, the resorts include the Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa and the Westin Riverfront Mountain Villas. The projects are being developed as part of one mixed-use development. The 235-room Westin Riverfront Resort is being developed by East West Partners. The Westin Riverfront Mountain Villas, a 113-unit vacation ownership resort, is being developed by Starwood Vacation Ownership, although East West Partners is the master developer of the entire project. The overall complex will feature 4,700 square feet of meeting space, a spa, a fitness facility, restaurants, a pedestrian-friendly retail plaza and a high-speed gondola that will transport skiers and snowboarders to the adjacent Beaver Creek Ski Resort area. Each of the vacation ownership resort’s 113 units will include two bedrooms. Unit sales will commence by 2008. The first phase of the villas will open following the premier of the Westin Riverfront Resort.
