NEW YORK CITY— Trump International Hotel & Tower here is getting ready to spend between $8 million – $10 million early next year to “re-invigorate” the five-star property. Determined not to let the five-year-old hotel show the slightest signs of the aging process, developer/owner Donald Trump told HOTEL BUSINESS® the hotel’s 167 guestrooms and suites will undergo renovations in terms of soft finishing and interior design, beginning in the first quarter of 2001. Trump said some work is also planned for the hotel’s public areas as well, but didn’t elaborate on the nature of what that work might entail at this time…other than to say it would be in line with upholding the property’s lofty standards and continue its position as the lodging-market leader in the area.—Michael Billig
