PARSIPPANY, NJ— Trip Network has unveiled a new, improved Cheap Tickets web site utilizing ITA Software to provide a greater range of booking options to consumers. The new sites uses Galileo Internationals Apollo(R) reservations system to search and process travel transactions as well as ITA Software to enhance online shopping resources. ITA Software, claimed as the most advanced system for airfare shopping, pricing, scheduling and seat availability, will provide substantially more airfare choices and a greater range of search criteria for consumers. Other enhancements to the Cheap Tickets website include E-ticketing within six hours of departure and real-time tracking of flights within North America. The site will also include resources from Lodging.com, a Cendant affiliate, providing additional inventory and discounts. Cheap Tickets and Galileo were both acquired by Cendant in October 2001. Cendant acquired Lodging.com in August of 2002. Trip Network has also implemented ITA Software on the Trip.com website. Access to the advanced fare shopping technology is provided through an agreement between ITA Software and Galileo International. It should soon be available to all Galileo online customers, according to Ken Esterow, chief development officer of Cendants Travel Distribution Services Division.
