The latest HOTEL BUSINESS® survey of the industry’s purchasing companies— based on annual sales in 2000— shows some changes in the top 10. However, the top two companies maintained their positions in the latest ranking. Higgins Purchasing Group is number one again, with annual sales in 2000 of $450 million; and Leonard Parker Co. is second with $425 million in sales. Purchasing Management International moved up from fourth to third position with sales of $228 million this year. The Stroud Group, with $212 million in sales, maintained sixth position, and The Gettys Group remained in eighth position with sales of $96 million. Allegiant, number three last year, is in fourth position this year with $215 million in sales, and Martin B. Stringfellow Co., number five a year ago, is now in seventh place with $150 million in sales. Carver Associates, with $78 million in sales, moved up from 10th position to the ninth slot this year. Two companies are new to the top 10 list. They are Integrated Services Corp. at number four with $225 million in annual sales for 2000; and HDP International in 10th position with $70 million in sales.
