PHOENIX— The Travel Inventory Marketing Alliance, LLC (TIMA) announced a new partnership with SynXis Corp. of McLean, VA. The agreement brings the two companies together to leverage the power of TIMAs XML-based, merchant-model inventory distribution technology and the real-time room inventory availability provided by SynXis. TIMA said that the partnership expands its existing inventory supply to include access to an additional 275,000 rooms in more than 4,200 hotels worldwide. First Internet Travel, which does business as 1-800-USA Hotels, and Tourist Bureau Marketing, doing business as Alliance Reservations Network, formed the Travel Inventory Marketing Alliance in May 2002 to establish relationships between suppliers with net rate availability and subscribers based on an enhanced distribution and subsequent revenue model. T.I.M.A. is a centralized, XML-based inventory aggregation and distribution system that allows participating suppliers to post real-time availability and participating subscribers to acquire and re-sell selected inventory globally. SynXis Internet-based ASP solution delivers full electronic distribution and reservations management capabilities to the hospitality industry. The SynXis Reservation Management System allows hotel operators to consolidate and manage hotel inventory from all sources— seamless GDS connectivity, over 1200 popular Internet travel sites, private-label central reservations systems, and full-service hotel websites. The system also helps hotels build revenue by enabling them to independently manage each distribution channel from one control center, according to SynXis. –
