ATLANTA—The Southern Living Hotel Collection, a small, curated group of independent, four-and five-star level hotels, resorts and inns that span 18 Southern states, has added Keswick Hall in Keswick, VA.
Since its launch this past July, the Collection has grown from 15 hotels, resorts and inns to 26 properties.
Located near Charlottesville, Virginia, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, each of Keswick Hall’s 48 guestrooms is subtly themed and features antiques and linens and fabrics in heirloom patterns. Facing formal gardens at the front and the golf course and fields at the back, each room features antique furnishings, custom carpets, hand-painted armoires, personal collectables and a residential feel. Bathrooms offer separate, glass-enclosed showers, oversized or claw footed tubs and antique porcelain bathroom sets. Public areas offer period inspired furnishings and art that tells the story of the original home, Villa Crawford circa 1912. This summer, Keswick Hall’s golf course will reopen as a newly designed Pete Dye course.
Dining options include Keswick Hall’s signature restaurant, Fossett’s, which has floor-to-ceiling windows. During the mild weather months, Fossett’s offers al fresco terrace seating overlooking the golf course. Named in honor of Thomas Jefferson’s chief cook at Monticello, Edith Fossett, who was trained in French cooking, Fossett’s offers a farm-to-table menu. For casual dining, The Palmer Room has a club atmosphere.
