PHOENIX— Thayer Interactive, the Internet services company launched by Fred Malek and Trip Schneck, told HOTEL BUSINESS® that its client roster has grown to 60 hotels, up from 25 in March. Thayer expects to be working for 100 hotels by year-end. Malek and Schneck, previously on the development team for Thayer Lodging, were attending the Lodging Conference for the first time, debuting their services to hotel owners. Thayer Interactive manages hotel websites for an annual fee, seeking to capture the travel brand-agnostic hotel shopper who searches for properties by destination, using such search language as “Chicago hotel.” By enlisting “search engine optimization,” Thayer uses keywords in hotel property descriptions and titles so that the hotel will appear in a prominent position on search engines when a consumer does a search. —Ruthanne Terrero
