NORCROSS, GA— TESA Entry Systems, a manufacturer of electronic locks for hospitality industry, has officially changed its name to Onity. Using the slogan, “Innovative Thinking,” the company hopes its new brand name will better emphasize its focus on innovation through intelligent systems. The name change to Onity is also designed to help reposition the company for expanded services, solutions and growth, according to a statement. To date, TESA has been known as a provider of facility management technologies from electronic locks and smartcard systems, to safes, Closed Circuit TeleVision surveillance, and energy management systems. In an effort to differentiate itself from other more product-oriented companies, Onity is attempting to increase its value proposition by offering expanded services, such as: product concept, development and testing, production, delivery, support and consulting. For the past three years, TESA ESI has been planting the seeds that sprouted into Onity — adding services and intelligent facility management systems through: an alliance struck in 2001 allowing the company to provide select PHILIPS Closed Circuit TeleVision (CCTV) surveillance solutions to the hotel industry worldwide; the 2002 acquisition of SENERCOMM, a leading global provider of guestroom energy management systems (EMS); the continued fine-tuning of its electronic locks and in-room safes; and the introduction of smartcard solutions leveraging the firm’s Revalidator technology for improved security and intelligent access control.
