Tanakaya Named GM At Doubletree San Diego

SAN DIEGO— Russell Tanakaya has been appointed general manager of the 174-room Doubletree Golf Resort San Diego, according to Glenn Hale, area vp, Orange County/San Diego for Hilton Hotels Corp. Tanakaya has more than 20 years of management experience in the hospitality industry, including food & beverage and hotel operations. He began his hotel management career with the Hyatt Regency Houston in 1982. He subsequently held positions at the La Mansion del Rio Hotel in San Antonio; the Guest Quarters Hotel in Baltimore; the Doubletree Guest Suites Santa Monica; and the Hilton Los Angeles North/Glendale. The Doubletree Golf Resort San Diego features an 18-hole par 72 golf course; five lighted outdoor tennis courts; a 5,500-square-foot spa and fitness center; and 20,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor meeting and function space.
