TAMPA— The $7.4 million Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites here saw workers top off the fourth floor last month. The new 85-room hotel— being developed by Tampa-based BayStar Hotel Group— will serve as a prototype for future Holiday Inn Express properties, according to the company. The new hotel is located three miles north of the Tampa International Airport in the Westlake Corporate Park. It is slated to open this May. An owner, developer and operator of hotels formed in 2000, BayStar also owns and operates the 86-room Hampton Inn–Tampa Airport North. The property will feature services and amenities that include a lounge, outdoor pool, fitness center and guest laundry facilities. For the business traveler rooms will be equipped with a desk and ergonomic chair, dataports, complimentary USA Today newspapers and a breakfast bar.
